Finance Executive
People + Systems + Processes = VALUE
For over 17 years, Chris has helped organizations in their pursuit of excellence. During this expedition he progressively added responsibilities and in doing so demonstrated the ability to adapt quickly, be flexible, accept challenges, and add value. A key tenet throughout his career has been to build strong teams focused on leveraging systems and improving processes. Chris’ unconvential path to controllership allowed him to develop a unique skillset.
His professional career started at PricewaterhouseCoopers with a concentration in corporate tax where he assisted large multinational organizations with accounting for income taxes, tax compliance, and tax planning. The next stop along the expedition was TriZetto, where Chris took on the critical challenge of leading payroll. This was an area unfamiliar to Chris, but demonstrated that he was up to the challenge. At Healthgrades Chris added more traditional controller responsiblities such as AP, GL, Treasury, and Accounting Technology. Although new responsibities, Chris adapted quickly and pivoted his attention to optimizing systems and improving processes.
The most recent stop, TwentyEighty, presented his greatest challenge. Chris was tasked with leading the global accounting department at a company that had recently been forclosed on and was struggling with significant control issues. He was challenged with rapidly remediating the control issues to ensure the issues did not prevent a timely exit. Although challenging, his time with TwentyEighty was professionally rewarding.
In addition to traditional day to day controllership responsibilities Chris has had the pleasure of participating in various key projects: accounting standard adoption, business process reengineering, IPO readiness, improving internal controls over financial reporting, M&A (buy and sell), global software implementations, and tax planning and structuring.
Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Marquette University, is active in youth athletics, and serves on the board of a local non-profit. In his free time, he likes to spend time outdoors with his wife, two sons, and two dogs.
